Medium: 11x14 on bristol board
Method: Cut out stencil with blade and placed on screen
Artist Statement: For this project I chose to do myself at Universal Orlando with Hogwarts in the background as my prop. I chose something extremely difficult to cut out but it was an exciting challenge. We were told to create a "personal color" for this project so I mixed up my favorite color....pink! Being a Slytherin my other choice would have been green. For the process I started with a flat color which was pink then added my stencil and printed black mixed with magenta on top.

Method: CMYK done with emulsion and halftone
Artist Statement: For this project I made a collage out of whatever I could find in different magazines. I chose to make a statement about equal rights for my project. Though I am not personally part of the community I have many friends who are and I think creating this can make people feel uplifted and supported and I want to make people feel something positive with my art. I created this in 4 layers using a CMYK technique.

Artist Statement: Movie poster screen print! I chose to create a poster for Spiderman into the Spiderverse. This is one of my favorite movies that I watch over and over again and I was inspired to use it for this project because of the art style and animation. It is a four color print, there is white, red, blue, and a purple color where the blue and red overlap. I printed two layers, red and blue. I used the white of the page for elements like his eyes and the typography. I kept some elements red such as his spider symbol, parts of his suit, and around his eyes, while others stayed blue like the buildings, his outline, and accents on the typography. The rest of it ended up being purple. I printed the red first and then added transparent medium to the blue to have the effect of four colors. I wanted it to feel simple with a little bit of complexity to stay interesting.

Method: Use screen filler to paint image
Artist Statement: For this project I chose Vincent Van Gogh's Self Portrait to create my reduction print. For this project I had to use a work of art and I chose this specific piece to replicate due to it being so detailed with an intricate background. This process had 6 layers starting with white and getting darker as I went. Each layer I cleaned my screen and painted the red screen filler onto the screen to create the image. I love the hand drawn element and I think it made the piece feel like a painting rather than a screen print.

Artist Statement: For my gig poster I chose one of my favorite artists, Tate McRae. I was very strategic with my content I put in the piece. Tate's most popular song at the time was sports car. For this she used McLaren throughout her promotion for the song. I chose orange for the background because of that. I also added a checkered edge and a Formula 1 racecar. I set her to be performing at Hard Rock Stadium on May 5, 2024 because that is when Lando Norris, McLaren F1 driver, won his first ever race. This was printed in two layers, the first being the orange with the black layered on top. I was inspired to do this piece because of my love for Tate and her music as well as McLaren and Formula 1.
